The main factor in preserving all the useful qualities and properties of cod liver is the technology of its production. There are two types of cod liver: sea and coastal. It is always better to give preference to the first one, since coastal production uses frozen raw materials, which lose most of vitamins and minerals after thawing.

But even on a ship, the quality of cod liver mainly depends on speed of fish processing, since the cod liver is very much affected by the environment. The limit of time for preparing cod liver after catch should not exceed 6 hours, otherwise the cod liver blackens, and its taste becomes hard and bitter.

 

Canned food of FCF “Belomorskij Ribak” is produced on a ship from fresh cod liver. Not more than 2 hours pass from the moment of catching to cutting the fish that allows preserving its quality to the maximum and producing the highest grade cod liver.

We thoroughly rinse and clean the raw materials, after that the liver undergoes an autoclave cooking process with the addition of bay leaf and pepper. We do not add preservatives or other additives.
