Sustainable fisheries (MSC)

Sustainable fisheries means production (catch) of aquatic biological resources, carried out according to the national and international law, which provides for permanent catch in the long term, preserving such fishing opportunities for future generations and maintaining the good state of biological, social and economic systems.

We take care about the environment and marine resources. That is why the FCF "Belomorskij Ribak" has MSC certificate as an environmentally-sustainable enterprise, eco-friendly fishing for Atlantic cod and haddock in the Barents and Norwegian Seas.

Currently we are making MSC assessment for cold water shrimp produced in the Barents Sea and adjacent seas. We are planning to finish MSC-certification for shrimp in 2-3 quarters of 2020. We support responsible fishing and care for the marine ecosystem.
